Dear Parents and new Students,
Welcome to the St George’s College Girls’ hockey programme. Hockey is one of the focus sports for girls during the Autumn term. Students will have the opportunity to participate in hockey during games lessons, after-school training sessions and Saturday block fixtures. We aim to provide fixtures across the term for around 20 teams throughout the College and are proud to offer outstanding facilities as well as an experienced coaching staff including ex and current England and Great Britain internationals. Girls' hockey has enjoyed tremendous success over the past few years; winning county, regional and national titles on a regular basis as well as coaching individual students to international representation. The aim of the programme is to provide an inclusive, fun and successful hockey environment where all Georgian students are able to reach their potential! Pre-season training
*We will assess all new students and put them into a suitable training group. We recognise that students have varying levels of experience on entry to the College and progress at different rates. Students are assessed continuously and will be moved between different training groups when appropriate.
After school practices commence as normal from Thursday 7th September. Training opportunities are as follows:

Regular competitive block fixtures are also played every Saturday.
Please ensure your daughter has her own gum shield, shin pads and suitable hockey Astro turf trainers. We also recommend they wear a left-hand glove and have their own hockey stick.
